Dr. Daoust became interested in mycology through her studies in ethnobotany and herbalism. She obtained her PhD in natural product chemistry from the University of British Columbia where her passion for mushrooms and their functional benefits deepened. Dr. Daoust translated her passion for mushrooms, herbalism and nutrition into a career in the nutraceutical industry where she brought dozens of products to market. Dr. Daoust brings her extensive experience in product development leading supplement and plant-based food brands to M2 Ingredients. Paired with her commitment to research, Dr Daoust’s expertise in natural product chemistry and clinical research is serving M2 ingredients to expand and optimize its functional mushroom offerings. She hopes that the mushroom summit will bring the industry together to advance the science on functional mushrooms in order to further the safety and efficacy of products offered to consumers.
